born 1947

In 1969, 18-year-old Hillary Clinton became the first student in history to speak at a Wellesley College commencement. She was so accomplished, classmates predicted she'd one day achieve another milestone ~ as the US's first female president.

Now Hillary's the first woman to be nominated for the presidency by a major party. Whether or not she wins, no one can argue with her qualifications for the job. After more than 30 years in public service, the former corporate attorney + two-time first lady has become the country's most prominent stateswoman. A past secretary of state and two-term senator, Hillary's known for intelligence, pragmatism and resilience...all of which were on display after her 2008 loss in the Democratic primaries. "When you stumble," she said, "keep faith."
