Pearl Arredondo is capturing attention as a passionate champion of ensuring under-served, inner-city kids have access to great teachers and top-notch schools.

The daughter of a high-ranking gang member who ran the streets of East LA, she's had first-hand experience dealing with extreme day-to-day challenges that no child should face in or out of the classroom.

Now she's leading the movement to ensure that all students, no matter their background, have teachers who support and engage them to help make positive changes in their own lives + communities. She's brought her inspirational message ~ "Let's do this!" ~ everywhere from the TED Talks stage to the US Secretary of Education.
