An illustration from "Le Jouvencel" by Jean de Bueil. Joan traveled to Chinon in spring 1429 to meet the Dauphin, who was crowned King of France at Reims in June {thanks to Joan's victory against the English}. A short 2 years later, she was executed for heresy.
Joan of Arc's birthplace, in Domrémy, is one of hundreds of historical sites connected to the saint. You can also visit the tower in Rouen where she was interrogated, as well as countless museums and shrines the French dedicate to their patron saint.
