Billie Jean was 9 nine years old when she discovered that girls didn't play baseball ~ so she decided she'd try to play tennis. After going to her first lesson she told her mom that tennis was what she wanted to do with her life ~ and she lived her dream. She experienced challenges along the way ~ especially for equal pay. In 1970 she founded the Women's Tennis Association and created tournaments to play for money.
As a child Billie Jean took tennis lessons and was convinced that playing tennis was what she wanted to do with her life. And she achieved phenomenal success in her career ~ she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987.
