In 1976, Ruth decided it was time revolutionize the prosthetic breast industry. And, who better to do it than someone who had been through the experience of breast cancer + a mastectomy herself? So, the longtime entrepreneur set out to create protheses that felt + looked right. Ruth sold her mastectomy products company to Spenco Medical Corporation in 1991. Today, the company is still a leader in prosthetic breasts.
