Mary's 2009 collection was inspired by two lines by English Romantic poet William Wordsworth ~ “To me the meanest flower that blows can give / Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears." This quote is the conclusion of the opening poem ~ "To Begin With, the Sweet Grass." It sums up what the poet has learned from the "evidence" of her everyday encounters with nature.
