An authoritative anthology of Gertrude's early works ~ including Q.E.D., Three Lives, Portraits & Other Short Works and The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas. Q.E.D. was one of the first books Gertrude wrote, but it didn't make it into print until late in her career.
Gertrude sits with longtime partner Alice B. Toklas on a French terrace in 1934. The two met in Paris in 1907, and Alice soon became Gertrude's all-around companion ~ serving as her secretary, cook, lover + muse.
