Written with her nephew Alex Prud'Homme, this memoir recounts Julia and Paul's early years from 1948 through 1954. The two had an uncommonly happy marriage, each wholeheartedly devoted to the other, and this joy shines through.
Cambridge butcher Jack Savenor became Julia's butcher and appeared on her show. She frequently shopped at his market, and signed her initials in the wet cement in front, along with her famous parting phrase, "Bon appétit!"
