"When I started Riverside school 10 years ago it became a lab, a lab to prototype and refine a design process that could consciously infect the mind with the 'I Can' bug."
In 2009, Kiran took her Riverside prototype and used it to launch a worldwide education movement. The Design for Change contest began in 2009 with 30,000 schools in India. Today, 35 countries and 300,000 child change agents participate. The work of Kiran's organization was recognized with a 2011 award from architecture and design magazine Dezeen. The poster from the 2011 international contest put on by Design for Change features some of the places + projects inspired by Kiran's movement.
